News & Notes, March 2010

Hello, all.  Things have been quiet on the Backdoor Slider Media front for the past few months but, hopefully, they will pick up real soon.   Some news and notes:

Blog Name change: Lady At The Bat is now LADYBATTING.COM. Same great blog; the URL and title are now one-in-the-same.

LATB Radio: The show has been on hiatus for a long time. Please accept my apologies for this. I am hoping to get it off the ground again sometime this year.

The Glamorous Bee:  No new entries will be posted to this blog.  The archives remain up, however, for your information and discussion.

This Fan’s Life:  My personal blog is no more, however, archived posts are available for this blog as well.

That’s about it. I hope everyone is looking forward to the baseball season as much as I am!

Listen To LATB Radio

LATB Radio, the latest Backdoor Slider Media production launched last month on BlogTalkRadio.  It is the “broadcast” home of the Backdoor Slider blog Lady At The Bat, www.ladybatting.com.

The show has already had some great guests:

Pat Venditte, the only switch pitcher in professional baseball.

Michael Shapiro, author of Bottom Of TheNinth: Branch Rickey, Casey Stengel And The Daring Scheme to Save Baseball From Itself.

Gabriel Schecter, author of This Bad Day In Yankees History: A Calendar of Calamities.

Listeners also have the opportunity to interact with the host and with each other, and they also have the chance to win some great prizes.

You can listen to LATB Radio by clicking the link below:

A lot more is planned for the show in the future, so bookmark the link and listen often!

Fashion Blogger Wanted

We’re in need of another writer for The Glamorous Bee:

Backdoor Slider Media, Inc. is looking for a Contributing Fashion Blogger for www.glamorousbee.com, its beauty and fashion blog. The right candidate will be able to post to the blog one to two times per week on the world of fashion and its industries.

The Contributing Fashion Blogger should have a basic knowledge of HTML and should be able to connect with readers who are past the age where Nicole Ritchie’s every move matters, but who are not yet ready to join AARP. Experience with content management systems (such as Blogger, Typepad and WordPress) is strongly preferred.

This is a great opportunity for a relatively new writer looking for exposure. Compensation is minimal but you’ll experience the latest the fashion industry has to offer as well as have a chance to attend some really exciting events (i.e., previews and fashion shows).

Interested candidates should email their resume and cover letter to glamour.bee@hotmail.com. Include a writing sample in the form of a published clip and/or a link. If you have no clips or links please write a 200-word piece, in the style of http://www.glamorousbee.com, about anything you’d like pertaining to fashion.

New Logo Finalized

The new logo is complete! It’s not much different from the preliminary one in the post below. We’re glad it’s finished all the same!

New Logo (Preliminary)

Fashion Week Coverage at The Glamorous Bee

Fashion Week in New York City just concluded and The Glamorous Bee (TGB) was right in the thick of it. Your trusty Backdoor Slider Media President and TGB Editor was in The Tents during the week soaking up the atmosphere. I got into one of the hotest shows of the week and was backstage for another. Click here to read all the TGB Fashion Week posts.
